Looking to the Future, Caring for the Past
Holy Trinity, Bledlow - Grade I

The nave before and after completion of the project
Although the church had moveable seating, the floor had raised pew platforms restricting its use as a large, flexible space, and a lack of level access to the tower hindered entry to basic facilities. The design approach aimed to meet the needs of the church with minimal impact to the historic fabric of the building.

The large, flexible space was created by removing the raised pew platforms and laying a new level stone floor throughout with underfloor heating using a dry installed, panel based system by Jupiter Heating.

The new floor included the kitchen area at the west end of the north aisle. The kitchen was refurbished and updated.

Level access was created to the toilets, in the tower area, by way of a small slope. New stone steps were constructed at the porch entrance where there is a significant level difference.

Repairs were also carried out to the pulpit and a new stone handrail installed.
