Looking to the Future, Caring for the Past
St Margaret's, Oxford - Grade II

The nave before and after completion of the project
The church wanted to create a flexible, well-equipped space to serve their church family and local community. The two-phase project began with upgrading the heating and flooring in the main space. This was followed by a major re-ordering to provide accessible access and facilities, and new and improved spaces to support the work of the church.

Phase 1: A new wooden floor with underfloor heating was installed, while the original marble tiled aisles were retained. The underfloor heating was combined with trench/duct heating and new radiators.

Phase 2: An extensive, internal re-ordering was carried out to make more efficient use of space in the building and provide much needed facilities. A new stone ramp has transformed the main entrance into a welcoming space with level access. New toilets, including a DDA toilet and baby changing facilities, and modern kitchen have been installed, as has a new flower prep area. A gallery at the west end provides a new vestry and admin space, while the choir are served by a new choir vestry. There is also a new children's area, existing meeting rooms have been refurbished, and a new memorial area has been created.
